Our district adopted a math program  entitled Eureka2.  It is a K-5 mathematics curriculum designed to engage students in making sense of mathematical ideas. 

As we begin each unit, you will receive a Family Letter explaining the unit and what your child will be learning. 

The social studies program at the Kindergarten level focuses on helping students develop awareness of self as a growing individual.  The child's unique qualities as well as similarities to others are stressed.  Children learn about values, ideas, customs, and traditions. In addition, the child's relationship with others in the classroom and the school become sources for social studies learning. Social interaction skills are integral to the Kindergarten program.  Children also begin to learn about their role as citizens by accepting rights and responsibilities in the classroom and by learning about rules and laws.
Our first Kindergarten Inquiry for social studies is entitled "Is Everyone Unique?"  Children's sense of self is shaped by experiences that are unique to them and their families, and by common experiences shared by a community or nation.  Through a variety of activities, we will be learning about each other and exploring our similarities and differences. 

Our district has adopted a Science program entitled STEMSCOPES. The children will begin to understand scientific concepts and skills as he/she engages in hands on investigations.  Our units include:  Weather Conditions, Measurement of Weather, Speed and Direction, Plant Needs, Animal Needs and Energy from the Sun.  Our curriculum will also include two units from the Science Program "Project Lead the Way".  Those units explore "Structure and Function: Exploring Design" and "Pushes and Pulls".
