Principal's Message

Dear Families:

The month of January was very busy at VCE. We celebrated the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. with a special Morning Program arranged by Mrs. Lima and Mrs. Anderson. We spent the week discussing Dr. King as a “peaceful warrior” and focused on some of his words and how it might look if people put those words into action right here at VCE. Last week, classes participated in “No Name Calling Week”, and tied this message into Dr. King’s work. Each class chose one student who best exemplified what it meant to be a “peaceful warrior”.

The two goals of the Read-In are to have all students read for pleasure at the same time and enjoy a day of sustained silent reading.

The Penguin Plunge - A fundraiser to help families with medical expenses for their children--our students. To benefit Alex Fernandez of Valley Cottage Elementary School and Francesco Galvano of Pearl River Middle School. March 4, 12pm - Plunge at 1:45pm Memorial Park, Nyack

Per our Transportation Department:

Bus changes are for emergencies only. Any request for a bus change must be sent to the main office on paper for approval by our Transportation Dept.

Good News

Congratulations to our student artists for their amazing artwork featured at the Administration Building Art Gallery. Mr. Milillo does wonderful work with our students. So many parents came out for the opening on Tuesday evening. Congratulations to Mr. Milillo and our student artists!

Talia Spatz of 1st grade is this month's student artist. Her "snowman" art is displayed on Principal Gina Cappiello's office door. Congratulations Talia!
